Blackjack Etiquette

When you play Blackjack at an actual brick and mortar Blackjack table — instead of playing online like we all love to — knowing proper gestures for the right action is essential to keep the game running smoothly. You need to learn Blackjack etiquettes if you want to take the game more seriously.

Out of several Blackjack moves, hit and stand are the two most used ones. Gestures to signal a hit or a stand are actually very simple. When you are hitting, touch your finger to the table — usually once — and produce a light knocking sound; use the tip of your finger and knock on or touch the table. The dealer will understand your gesture and give you another card immediately. In handheld games, you can scrape your cards against the table to signal the same move.

When you want to stand, simply wave your hand horizontally; this will tell the dealer that you don’t need another card. The same move can also be signaled by sliding your cards under the bet in handheld games.

Knowing these gestures is quite important to ensure pleasant playing sessions. It will keep the game running smoothly and makes it more enjoyable for everyone.

Blackjack: Using the Matrix

Every professional player who has been playing Blackjack for some times knows that Blackjack matrix can seriously increase chances of winning. You will be able to take a peek at the matrix while playing to determine, or at least to confirm, what your next move will be and play accordingly. The Blackjack matrix is generally series of common decisions made by Blackjack players when facing different conditions. It is mainly based on the understanding that Blackjack dealers operate on strict rules; these rules, such as having to stand whenever they reach 17 or accepting 11 as the value of an Ace instead of 11 or 1 enjoyed by players, and the fact that you are playing against only the dealer are factors that make Blackjack a very beatable and profitable game.

If you are playing online Blackjack, you can simply print out the matrix and use it without problem. You can even find Blackjack matrix software that you can use to help you play without hassle. If you play at an actual Blackjack table, however, it would be best to ask your dealer whether you are allowed to use the matrix. Most casinos will allow the use of Blackjack matrix; still, asking before actually using the matrix would be best.
